Together We Can Go Far

If you want a lasting business that gets better, stronger and more profitable with each passing month...

The kind of business that really, truly helps people, impacts your community, and makes you proud...

A business that grows your personal income year over year...

Giving your family financial security and building EQUITY so you can one day sell it for a hefty payday or pass it on to your kids...

You can't do THAT alone.

You need the help and support of other people you can trust.

Inside and outside your business.

Do you agree with that?

Okay, great. Then let's get started...

.....

Welcome to Day #1 of your 14-Day Fast Start Training.

As a reminder, here's my promise to you:

Over the next 14 days, you're going to launch a SuddenSurge™ Referral Campaign with my guidance.

I'll give you everything you need to implement the campaign, and coach you how to do it, day-by-day and step-by-step.

If you have questions along the way, you'll be able to ask me and get answers quickly, so you have complete clarity, and never lose momentum.

By the 14th day (or possibly sooner), you'll have new customers, clients or patients calling or coming in to your business.

.....

Each day I'll provide you with specific ACTION STEPS.

All you have to do is follow the step-by-step instructions for implementation.

If you run into any problems, or have questions, you'll be able to get help almost instantly within our community.

At the end of today's ACTION STEP, I'll show you how to get access to me, and others who are going through this same training.

We've got a great support community to help you.

You're not alone.

.....

This training is designed specifically for local brick and mortar businesses that serve consumers (B2C).

Here are the types of local B2C businesses that will get the most benefit from this training. This list is definitely NOT exhaustive. So don't be concerned if your business type is not listed. If you're unsure, you can always ask our community.

If you're a local business owner who sells to other businesses (B2B), then you're welcome to go through the training. It will certainly help you. But it's not designed specifically for you.

.....

There are two primary sources of referrals for local businesses like yours:

#1 - Your customers.
#2 - Your partners.

There are other sources, but these are the best. By far.

And partners are the better of the two. By far.

You'll find out why as you progress through this training.

A "partner" is a respected, non-competitive B2C business owner in your local area who is ready, willing and able to refer his or her customers, clients or patients to you.

Just as you are to him or her. That's what a partner is. It's someone with whom you have a reciprocal referral relationship.

By default, business owners tend to focus almost exclusively on getting referrals from their customers, clients or patients.

That's shortsighted.

Referrals from customers are great. And you absolutely should have a system for maximizing them.

But there are some limitations you need to be aware of. Limitations that partner referral sources don't have.

Some, maybe including you, belong to BNI (Business Network International), or the Chamber of Commerce, or some other "networking" group.

And that's smart. But many find those groups to be not nearly as productive as they'd like them to be. And as they could - and should - be.

You're going to find out why during this training.

And how to fix that so your group, if you belong to one, becomes considerably more productive, very quickly.

If you're not a member of BNI or the Chamber or some other group, NO PROBLEM.

You don't need to be.

.....

Over the next 14 days you are going to do a partner referral marketing promotion.

It's called SuddenSurge™.

And it rocks.

We're doing a partner promotion because the upside potential is so much bigger than a customer promotion (where you ask your customers to refer).

Again, this will all become clear to you as we move forward with this training.

.....

Don't have any partners?

No problem.

I'm going to show you how to get a good one, fast.

Without begging, badgering or even explaining.

It's simple.

And, as you're about to discover...

Business-altering.

The term "game changer" is hyperbolic and hackneyed in almost every context.

Not this one.

.....

I want to show you one video and three important pictures:

Gary Vaynerchuk got his start running his parents' local liquor store. He tells the story of how he partnered with lots of other local businesses to promote the liquor store in a very long video you can find on his Facebook page.

Above is a short clip from that much longer video where he makes his key point.

BNI statistics - Local By Referral

The image above comes right off BNI.com. It's their numbers for 2018.

Note the second number from left: 10.4 million member referrals in the last 12 months.

That's with a really antiquated, reactive, labor intensive referral process. If you can even call it that.

There's ZERO doubt that partner referral marketing works. Even if you're "old school".

$4 million BNI

And this image illustrates what can happen when a local partner referral team does smart things.

In this case, they properly vetted the applicants. Because commitment is key.

The other keys are:

#1 - Proactive marketing (not reactive)
#2 - Scalability
#3 - Systemization

You'll learn about all of these as we move forward.

The third and final picture I want to show you is also the most important...

Where the magic happens

If you're not nodding your head up and down, then there's little chance I - or anyone else - can help you grow your business.

Because that's the biggest "secret" to success right there.

If you're not growing, you're dying. There's no middle ground. No status quo.

And the only way to grow is to stimulate the muscle.

.....

You have 2 goals over the next 14 days (two weeks):

>> Week #1 - Get your first partner.

>> Week #2 - Launch the SuddenSurge™ partner referral marketing (PRM) campaign so you and your partner both get new customers.

So the next 14 days are all about ACTION. About producing RESULTS.

And every step you need to take is laid out for you with simple and straightforward instructions.

Just follow the step-by-step instructions and you’ll be golden.

Don’t try to reinvent the wheel.

And don’t strive for perfection. Because perfect is the enemy of done.

Your #1 objective is to keep moving forward, no matter what.

If you run into an issue and need help or clarification, ask for help inside our private Facebook group. Instructions for joining the group are below.

DAY #1 ACTION STEP

Use the Tickler & Tracker Tool to begin building your targeted list of prospective partners.

We've built your LocalByReferral® Best Business Types Tickler & Tracker Tool in Google docs so it's easy to access.

Click here to open the tool in another window.

Then save it into your Google drive so you can begin using it.

As you can see in the tool, the different B2C business types are listed in the left hand column. Then there are contact information fields in the columns to the right.

So you’re building a database of other respected businesses in your local area.

And this database, much like your customer database, has the potential to be incredibly valuable.

The way you turn that potential into actual dollars is by building and leveraging relationships with those in the database.

And that's what I'm going to show you how to do. And it's a skill that can literally make you rich.

How to Build Your Prospective Partner List

Get out a sheet of paper so you can write fast (you’ll transfer into the Tickler & Tracker Tool afterwards).

Off the top of your head, begin listing out business owners you ALREADY KNOW, LIKE AND TRUST in the following categories:

>> Friends who own businesses near you.
>> Customers who own businesses near you.
>> BNI, Chamber of Commerce, other networking/lead group members near you.
>> Businesses you patronize near you.
>> Businesses near you that you’ve heard good things about, but haven’t patronized.

What does “near you” mean?

It depends on where your business is located.

If you’re in a densely populated urban city, then “near you” means less than a mile from your business.

If you’re in a suburb, it means less than 3-5 miles from your business.

If you’re in a rural location, it means less than 10 miles from your business.

Basically, it means the RADIUS around your business from which you draw your customers.

If a business you know is located OUTSIDE that radius, then it’s probably not a good prospective partner because its customers probably will not drive all the way to your business.

Essentially, the closer – geographically – the business is to you, the better. Because that way you can be certain that driving distance will not stop that businesses' customers from becoming your customers, too.

Make sense?

Great.

Also, keep in mind that if you are a B2C business, then you want B2C businesses as partners. Not B2B. Use the listing of B2C business types in your Tickler & Tracker Tool as a guide.

Finally, it’s very important that you, or someone you trust, knows, likes and trusts the business. You will be recommending your partners to your customers, clients or patients.

So you have to be confident in your partner’s ability to deliver value to your people.

But don’t get hung up on that right now.

Later in this training I’ll show you how to thoroughly qualify prospective partners before you actually partner with them.

Because it’s just too important to leave to chance.

Once you've listed out as many businesses you can think of that meet the criteria we just discussed, transfer that info into your Tickler & Tracker Tool.

Then fill in as many of the contact information fields for each business as you can.

Invest at least one hour of your time today building out this database.

IT WILL BECOME VERY, VERY VALUABLE TO YOU...VERY SOON.
